UniversiMedia
Privacy Policy
How UniversiMedia uses information in your college search and family plan.
Information we collect
Browsing the public catalog does not require an account. Creating an account involves your email and sign-in credentials, or information provided through Google sign-in. Family planning stores your role, language, graduation year, study interests, preferred regions and campus settings, priorities, optional annual budget range, family membership and invite code, and saved institutions with their application statuses. Operational records include timestamps and onboarding audit events. If you submit a contact or interest form, we receive the information you choose to send.
How we use and share it
We use account information to sign you in and family-plan information to save preferences, organize your shortlist and let your family collaborate. Budget ranges and family notes are intended for authorized family members, not the public catalog. Share invite codes only with people you want in your plan. Service providers supporting hosting, account access and analytics process information needed for those services. We do not sell family-plan data or allow schools to purchase placement in results.
Cookies, local storage and analytics
We use cookies and browser storage to remember English or Spanish and maintain sign-in. Recently viewed institutions may be remembered in your browser. Google Analytics measures page visits and navigation when your browser permits tracking. The site respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. There is currently no separate cookie-consent banner. Browser settings can block cookies or clear stored information; doing so can sign you out or reset preferences.
Students under 18
Students under 18 may use the service to research institutions and plan with a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian should participate in account and family-plan decisions. Do not submit sensitive documents, tax returns, Social Security numbers or information about other people without permission. This service is not intended to collect information from young children. Age-related consent requirements remain subject to legal review.
Access, retention and deletion requests
You can remove saved institutions from your family shortlist and clear browser storage yourself. Signing out does not delete your account or family records. To request access, correction or deletion, contact @universimedia through a private message on the X or Instagram accounts linked on our About page and say that you have a privacy request. Do not post account details publicly. We may need to verify your account before acting; deleting shared family information can affect other members. A dedicated privacy contact, retention schedule and self-service account deletion are not yet established and require confirmation before this draft becomes final.
